A boutique built on good judgement.
Since 2009, we’ve grown by doing one thing well: giving growing companies and ambitious individuals the kind of senior legal attention larger firms reserve for their largest clients.
Founded by two lawyers who wanted to practise differently.
Rachel Tan and Imran Wahab met as junior counsel at a large Singapore practice. They left in 2009 with a shared frustration: that the clients who most needed clear, senior advice — owner-managed businesses and first-time founders — were too often the ones who got the least of it.
Tan & Wahab was their answer. A firm deliberately kept small enough that a partner leads every matter, yet broad enough to handle the full life of a business — from incorporation and fundraising to disputes, exits and succession. Sixteen years on, much of our work still comes from the founders, directors and families we advised at the very beginning, and the people they’ve sent our way.
Principles we won’t trade away.
Not a poster on the wall — the actual basis on which we take instructions and give advice.
Partner-led, always
The person who scopes your matter is the person who runs it. You will never be quietly handed to someone you’ve never met.
Commercial before clever
We measure advice by the decision it lets you make, not the length of the memo. The shortest sound answer is the right one.
Transparent on cost
A clear estimate before we begin, and a conversation — not a surprise — if a matter grows beyond it.
Discretion as standard
Much of our best work is never spoken of. Confidence and confidentiality are the same word for a reason.
Accountable to the profession, and to you.
Our partners and associates are advocates and solicitors of the Supreme Court of Singapore and hold valid practising certificates. The firm and its lawyers are members of, and regulated by, the institutions that uphold standards in Singapore legal practice.
